HOW DO I GET HELP?
Call 1-800-939-5911 and you can speak to an access worker that will help you get routine, urgent, and emergency mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services. The access worker will also help assure that you get an appointment in a timely manner. Additionally, you can get information about other community resources such as housing, benefits, support groups, etc. |

WHAT WILL I BE ASKED WHEN I CALL THIS NUMBER?
You will be asked general information so that eligibility can be determined. Information about your county of residence, age, gender, number of dependents, marital status and income will be asked. |

IS THE CALL CONFIDENTIAL? IS MY INFORMATION CONFIDENTIAL?
Your information is confidential. Piedmont is required by the “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996” (HIPAA) to protect the privacy and confidentiality of those we serve. Information is only released to the agency that will be providing your services. You can reach the Privacy Officer at 704-721-7058.
However, there are certain situations, in which Piedmont employees are required by law to share confidential information. |

WHAT IF I AM DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING?

If you are a non-English speaker, Call 1-800-939-5911, the Access Center Customer Services Representative can connect you to a translation service. You may have to wait briefly for the conference call with the interpreter to begin. |

Most providers we contract with use a sliding fee scale for payment based on a person's income. State funding may be available for financial assistance. Call 1-800-939-5911 for more information. |

Services are available in all five counties of our catchment area. It is our goal to provide a choice of services that are within 30 minutes or 30 miles driving time from your home. |
