Q: When will we need to start putting NPI numbers on TARS?
A: You will not need to enter NPI numbers on TARS, however in the future you will be entering the NPI number on claims. Right now, enter all Agency and Individual NPI numbers into the system. You will recieve additional emails when we are ready to recieve NPI numbers on claims. Please be aware the deadline set by CMS is May 23, 2007, however we can choose to require NPI numbers on claims sooner. We do have 9 pilot providers who will begin testing the CMS1500 Claims form the week of the 19th.

Q: We have one individual who has been working on getting the NPI information to all our insurance carriers for the hospital and all the clinics. Do we still need to enter it into the system if we have sent it to you through email or mail?
A: Yes, all NPI numbers must be entered through the Provider Direct System for Agencies and Individuals. You must also email or mail the NPI Certification letters to PBH at npi@pamh.com or PBH Attn: Network NPI Documentation 245 LePhillip Court Concord, NC 28025
